Republic Day 2023 offer: Enjoy free Metro rides for 10 days; here’s how
Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has come up with a stunning offer on the occasion of Republic Day 2023. Free Metro cards will be provided to all commuters and the scheme will be valid for ten days.
Normally people have to spend INR 100 to buy a new metro card. Those who travel daily within Noida and do not yet have a metro card can take advantage of Noida Metro’s Republic Day sale and get a free metro card.

NMRC Managing Director Ritu Maheshwari said in a press statement that NMRC will celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence – 75 years of India’s independence – and the fourth anniversary of the successful commercial operation of Aqua Line.
Organized in association with the State Bank of India (SBI), commuters will get SBI co-branded CITY1 cards under this initiative. Maheshwari said, “We request the passengers to actively participate and take maximum benefit from the campaign, which will also give a boost to the Digital India campaign and increase the usage of the card.”
The Republic Day sale for Noida Metro will begin on January 26 and will go on till February 4, 2023. The process to get a CITY1 card – visit your nearest Noida Metro Station and request for SBI NMRC CITY1 Card at the counter. Fill in your details in the simple application form and submit it to the operator.
NMRC has recently increased the minimum balance for the metro card from Rs 10 to Rs 50. The NMRC’s record for the most riders in a single day was broken on January 16. On Monday, 56,168 passengers traveled on the Aqua line, which is the highest till date, according to the corporation’s official figures.
The Aqua Line of the NMRC has been running since 2019. It begins in Sector 51 in Noida and extends till Depot in Greater Noida. It covers 21 Metro stations as of 20 January 2023. Nisha Wadhawan, a representative for Noida, claims that the NMRC has sold more than 1,30,800 smart cards so far. She also said that around 50 percent of passenger travel using smart cards daily.
